Yin Yoga
The class sequence is composed of many of the Asanas (poses) from other Yoga styles, but the fundamental difference is that each pose is held for much longer (varying from 2 to 5 minutes), in order to deeply relax the muscles and affect the connective tissues of the body (fascia, ligaments, tendons, cartilage and bones). Most of the positions are performed lying down or sitting (almost never standing).
It can be practiced by anyone, regardless of age, level of flexibility or yoga experience, because the majority of poses use props to support the body.
Benefits: improves joint mobility by preventing and treating injuries and pains; avoids degeneration caused from prolonged immobilization; increases the flexibility of the whole body; works against muscle contraction and joint fixation; promotes meditation; relaxes very deeply. We will “cool down” after an active day and rebalance our energies, gently taking care of ourselves.
Gentle and Restorative Yoga
You will stretch the body, move in simple flow sequences and release any tension that has accumulated during the day. Awareness will be brought to the breath to help calm the mind and enable you to move deeper into the stretches. It’s accessible to all levels, from beginners to advanced. Will help your body rest, heal and restore balance.
